GO YE!

The creator of the Universe simply spoke the earth into existence. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 1:13) So through his unseen word things became visible. Hence we have the word Universe. Uni meaning one, and verse meaning word. That’s all it took. One word from God. When God said “Let there be light,” There was light. When He spoke to the waters they moved. (Genesis 1) It seems as though the creation is subject to the Creator. When God speaks it listens. Or does it?

“Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15) Those words of Christ weren’t simply a suggestion. He was speaking to his creation. So many Churches are full of Gods people that aren’t listening to their Creator. When The Lord spoke, I believe it was a commandment. There are times that God opens doors of opportunity and many of us fail to walk thru those doors. We must realize that as his children, God, wants us to listen. If the waters, land and the Earth can listen, then why can’t we?

Many modern day Christians feel that this commandment is resting upon the shoulders of Church leaders. But the fact is that the leadership of your Church won’t come in contact with “every creature.” While the burden to win souls should rest upon the leadership, the Church should also share that burden. Many people at your work, school or marketplace will never hear a sermon delivered by your pastor. That’s right; they won’t hear the spoken word. However they can experience it in the life of a believer. The account of God’s creation can teach us a lot. Genesis 1:11 And God said, let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. Wow! God spoke to the creation and it brought forth seed and the fruit tree yielded fruit and its seed was in itself. Our message to the world isn’t always a theological sermon delivered by a minister with a doctorate degree. When we “Go ye”, we’re not just doing, but we are being. The apple didn’t hear the word direct from God however it was a product of obedience. So many times we don’t realize the seed that is in us. Who around you could possibly be searching for true joy? Searching for peace, contentment, love? Well you may have the key to unlocking the door in their life that Jesus will step into.

So next time your second guessing posting something on Facebook because it may offend someone, or you hesitate witnessing because of persecution or fear of embarrassment, GO YE. Jesus said, “Preach the gospel.” To preach is to proclaim, to advocate, to advise and to spread. So to Christian that feels you have no calling, you’re wrong. You are called! So, GO YE!

9/11: A wake up call!

2 Chronicles 7:14 – If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Our land needs healing. America was taken by surprise on that horrible day in 2001. When the country watched the towers fall and saw reports of the pentagon and flight 93, disbelief, sorrow and fear griped our hearts. However for many it was a call to action. People that have never prayed before, prayed. People that didn’t go to church, went to church. It felt as though most Americans felt a burden to not only pray for the victims families but also for their nation, their communities and their own selves.

To many the question crossed their minds, WHY? We know that in the name of Islam these cowards killed thousands including themselves. Although God had no part in this ungodly act, he allowed it to take place. I believe God gave America an opportunity to repent and turn to him. Since that time it seems as though the majority of our Country has gotten worse. The sin and the promotion of sin has became the norm. What once was wrong isn’t wrong any more. Who has changed? God hasn’t.  The judgment of God is coming. I feel that makes the religious crowd happy. That should burden us as believers to not just do something but become something in Jesus. To wake our selves up and understand that the coming of Christ imminient. The Church must awake from her sleep and realize that God didn’t save us just to look nice on the pew or to vote for the right candidate! But he has called us all to be a light in this dark world. Politicians will not have the answer for America. If the USA will see revival it will come from the Church house not the White House.

God wants to heal America. But it starts within the Church. We must humble ourselves, and pray, and seek his face, and turn from our  wicked ways; then and only then will God hear, forgive and heal!

God bless,

Pastor Kevin
